Pro Karts Rules

 

Minimum weight #420
$18.00 entry fee includes pit pass
Purse payout and championship points will be awarded.

Drivers:

  1. Minimum 15 yrs old. Drivers under 15 may compete with track official approval.
  2. Safety rules apply to kart & driver. Must have serviceable fire extinguisher in pit.

Frames:

  1. Any production or custom built frame allowed. Quarter midget cars are ok.
  2. Frames must be of kart configuration. Must be made of steel. No aluminum or titanium material.
  3. No micro/mini sprints, midget cars or lawnmowers. (Quarter Midget cars OK)
  4.  Front and rear suspension is allowed, only (1) one shock/spring per wheel.

Body:

  1. Bodies are mandatory, fiberglass, aluminum or steel. May resemble any production or race type vehicle.
  2. Top wing recommended. Wings on hood are allowed. Top wing sides must stay within 3” from outer most edge of kart. 6 sq. ft. minimum. No sharp edges.

Roll cage:

  1. Minimum 4 point 3/4" O.D or larger steel roll cage mandatory. No conduit cages! Cage must be securely welded or bolted to frame with minimum 3" head clearance.
  2. Minimum 4-point seat belt.
  3. Metal racing seat is mandatory.
  4. Right side cage net, right side helmet support or a helmet restraint is mandatory.
  5. Front and rear bumpers required of Max. 1" O.D tubing. Not to exceed outside tread width of tires.
  6. Nerfbars are mandatory Max 1" O.D.
  7. Bumpers and Nerf bars must have rounded or capped ends. No sharp edges.

Wheels and tries:

  1. Any wheels not to exceed eight 6” in diameter.
  2. Any tire
  3. Grooving allowed.

Brakes:

  1. Disk type brakes mandatory on rear axle “must work”.

Drive train:

  1. No direct drive
  2. Chain, belt or shaft driven only.

Engine:

  1. No multiple engines karts/cars are allowed.
  2. No blockzilla’s
  3. Natural aspirated engines only! NO Nitrous Oxide, supercharger or turbocharger!
  4. Stock four-stroke two valve single cylinder engines only up to 305 cc plus wear and repair.
  5. This means STOCK as it came from the manufacture, no modification of any kind!
  6. Flywheel timing, headers, starters, and air boxes are not tech items.
  7. Engines that are no longer manufactured are not allowed!

Fuel:

  1. Gasoline racing gasoline or alcohol fuel OK. No performance enhancements or additives allowed. This only applies to performance enhancer’s, is not meant to exclude top end lubricants.
  2. Drivers must wear fire retardant racing suit if racing with alcohol fuel, and must have yellow tape on upper rear roll bar of kart to indicate alcohol uses.

Modification for 6.5 hp engines only:

  1. Up to 6.5 hp 4 cycle engines only. Maximum 206 cc plus wear/repair
  2. Motorsports engines allowed No blockzilla’s
  3. Camshaft may not exceed .308 lift.
  4. Stock diameter valves.
  5. Carburetors with a maximum venturi of .875 on any manifold.
  6. Stock crankshaft stroke and journals no after-market.
  7. Stock appearing type head allowed.
  8. Must have scatter shield in blower housing.
  9. Headers must have flanged end.
  10. Flywheel, flywheel timing, port modifications, block, intake manifold and air boxes are not tech items.

Note:

  1. Engine rules maybe changed at later date to make the class equal.
  2. Please keep in mind that with this many types of engines running in competing we may need to make changes!

NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATIONS. Any interpretation or deviations of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. Their discretion is final.
