Minimum Kart Weight for Maximum Displacement:
- Base weight is 320 lbs. plus 1 pound per 2.5 cc or fraction of a cc
Example:
Briggs 206cc your total weight would be 402 lbs.
Honda 270cc your total weight would be 428 lbs.
Briggs 305cc your total weight would be 442 lbs.
Honda 340cc your total weight would be 456 lbs.
Briggs 342cc your total weight would be 457 lbs.
Honda 390cc your total weight would be 476 lbs
- Overhead Valve Push Rod (OHV) Four-Stroke engines, base weight 320 lbs plus one pound for every 2.5 cc or fraction of a cc.
- Flat Head Four-Stroke Cycle engines, base weight 290 lbs plus one pound for every 3cc or fraction of a cc.
Fuel:
- Gasoline racing gasoline or methanol/alcohol fuel OK. No performance enhancements or additives allowed. This only applies to performance enhancer’s, is not meant to exclude top end lubricants.
- Drivers must wear fire retardant racing suit if racing with alcohol fuel, and must have yellow tape on upper rear roll bar of kart to indicate alcohol uses.
Calculating Displacement / Declaring Weight:
- Competitors must declare their weight and display it next to their front number in such a manner that the scale person can easily see it.
- The bore will be measured with cubic inch testing pump.
- We will round up to the nearesft whole cc when calculating minimum weight.
You may use following formula to calculating your engine displacement;
BORE X BORE X STROKE X .7854 X 16.39 = CC of engine.
(This assumes that the bore and stroke were measured in inches. The 16.39 is a conversion factor from cubic inches to cubic centimeters.)
Unless these specs say you can do something, you cannot.
